A Simple Way to Hang Unframed Artwork

March 24, 2017

I have another lazy decorating trick to share with you today.

I think we’re all fans of quick and easy solutions to make things pretty around the house, right?  I know I am.

Bonus points when they end up being super inexpensive too.

I am famous for picking up unframed art prints and other pieces that I would like to hang on the wall, but then never get around to actually framing and hanging on the wall.  It’s not always easy to find frames off the shelf to fit your print, and custom framing can be costly.  And then there’s that whole making an actual trip to the framing store thing that I never manage to make time for either.

Ugh.

During a trip to my favorite local vintage shop, Lucky Junk, last weekend I picked up a beautiful piece of work that I thought would be perfect for my little office.

I don’t know what I love more, the vintage feel…the subtle colors…the gorgeous paper…

And then there’s the message

Beautiful girl you were made to do hard things so believe in yourself.

Gosh, that resonates – doesn’t it?

Every element just works together so magically I knew anything I bought off the shelf wouldn’t do it justice, and I couldn’t bear tucking it away into the closet until I found/made something custom, so I grabbed a simple binder clip I bought a while back on clearance at Michael’s.

I used a small Command Strip to secure the binder clip to the wall, secured the print under the clip, stepped back and found the simplicity to be kind of perfect.

Who needs fancy framing?

Lazy decorating to the rescue once again.  πŸ˜‰

I love everything about this! The rough edges to the paper, the unique art itself, and that perfect positive affirmation! I can’t imagine anything working better than the binder clip. Your office is fast becoming my fav room in your home πŸ™‚

Such a pretty accent to your office! And I would LOVE to find a wonderful old wall cupboard like you’ve got hanging behind your desk. Lovely room.
