Hopefully you all enjoyed Monday’s post, because spring decorating continues today with the dining room. π
Seasonal decorating doesn’t have to be an elaborate process – just one or two quick changes can instantly freshen your entire space. Aside from maybe fall (just because I love it so much) and Christmas time, I keep my seasonal decorating pretty minimal and easy.
Just like with the living room, it was all about keeping it simple, bright, and neutral with small pops of green for the dining room.
I found this little fern on clearance at Target and itβs perfect for filling that gorgeous vintage crate I scored at the flea market last summer.
I simply love the weathered wood and rusty metal accents. Itβs the stuff antique crate dreams are made of. π
Up on the plate rack, I added a pair of birdβs nests that I found at Marshallβs earlier this season. How cute are they?!
A rustic scale holding two simple fern wreaths over a jute runner add texture to the table
And the buffet gets a new look with these mossy branches (I fell in love with those twisty stems) and a few succulents piled into a dough bowl.
And just like that, spring is in the dining room!
On a side note, I ordered a new pair of dining chairs to replace the old wood ones. The color was not what I thought, so I sent them back and re-ordered in a different color. Hoping for better luck with the second set. Update coming soon! π
Have a beautiful Wednesday, friends!!

Is your table oval and the rug a circle?
Trying to decide for my oval table π
Tonya says
Yes! It’s an oval table (actually round table with a leaf in it) on an 8 foot round rug. π
Chelsea says
What a sweet dining room! I have almost the identical dining table, mine was my great-grandmothers. I’ve been agonizing what to do with it, it needs to be tightened up and refinished-100 years will do things to ya! π and now I’m thinking I’ll just sand and restain.
Tonya says
What an awesome addition to your dining room to be able to use your great-grandmother’s table! I love when the things around me have a story and personal attachment. Enjoy that table Chelsea!!
Meaghan says
Tonya,
Did that scale come with the little bird on the top of the scale? I found it at Magnolia Market, but no bird at the top. I was wondering if you added that or if it came with it? This looks like a dream!
Meaghan
Tonya says
Mine did come with the bird on top – I’ve had it for a couple of years, so they may have changed the style of the scale since then…
Cari says
Eek! Those curtains are perfection & exactly what I’ve been looking for our farmhouse. I didn’t see them in store the last time I was in there – did you get them online, by chance?
Tonya says
Hi Cari! I did get them online…about ten years ago. π I found them on clearance for a steal and wish I had ordered about ten sets because I have yet to find another like them. If I do stumble across something similar (I’m in the market too), I will certainly let you know!

Absolutely gorgeous! Love the touches of green.
Tonya says
Thank you so much, Amy!
Jenny says
Your dining room is gorgeous – the green accents are perfect! I recognize your crate – I have the same one!! π
Tonya says
Thank you, Jenny! Yay for matching crates!! π
piecedpastimes says
Your spring touches are wonderful! The vintage scale really stole my heart, especially with the fern wreaths you adorned it with. Lovely!
Tonya says
Thank you! The scale is one of my favorites too. π
Nicole says
Hello! I love your dining room and am in the process of redecorating mine. Can you tell me where the wire baskets, inside the wooden crate on the wall came from? I’m having a hard time finding anything but “file baskets” and those aren’t big enough to put anything in! I want to add small flower vases in mine.
Thanks so much!
Nicole
Tonya says
Hi Nicole! The baskets are from World Market – and I’ve had little pots in them before and they fit perfectly! π
The Vintage Vixen says
All your touches of green are perfect, and those little bird’s nests are soooooooo adorably cute!!! Great job!!!
Michele
Tonya says
Thank you! I couldn’t pass those little nests up – now I wish I had grabbed a few more. π
Judith says
Ah, Spring! Your room looks great! Thanks for listing all the sources. Love the curtains!
Tonya says
Thanks, Judy! I love those curtains too – I wish I could find them again, because I would love to have them in a longer length!
Min says
I’m loving those twisty stems….and the bird nests!
Tonya says
Thanks, Min! I just couldn’t say no to either one. π
Carol says
Everything looks so nice…bright, cheery & springy. I picked up those exact nests at Marshall’s few mos. ago but put them back…seeing your display makes me wish I hadn’t. Can’t wait to see what chairs you chose. The chairs you have looks good too.
Tonya says
Ugh, don’t you hate when you do that Carol?! I do it all.the.time. When will we learn? π New chairs came today – I’ll have an update soon! π
Jenny says
I love the chairs that you already have
Tonya says
I love them too, Jenny. BUT they’re showing their age – unfortunately, they’re just not very comfortable and are in need of quite a bit of work/reinforcing. So, they’re going to stay in storage for now – plus it will be fun to try something new!
