With September coming to an end, it won’t be long before we are wanting to cozy in for the night beside a crackling fire. Although messy – and lots more work – nothing really beats the smells and sounds of a wood burning fire, am I right? [Read more…]

Good Morning friends!!
I hope you all had a nice and relaxing weekend. Jordan and I decided to ditch all our responsibilities and spent the weekend antiquing, exploring, and hunting for the perfect pumpkins. We had so much fun. 🙂
We went to one of the most amazing antique stores I think I have ever been to – oh the treasures that were in that building! I was in heaven. HEAVEN. Sadly, most items were out of my price range, but it was still a great place to find inspiration and learn more about the things we see out and about on our flea market adventures. I can’t wait to go back. [Read more…]
Bird’s Eye View Map
Have you all noticed the old looking map that sits on the fireplace mantel in our living room? I thought I’d talk a little bit about it today – in case you were curious about where it’s from and/or how we “antiqued” it. Hint: It was super-duper easy. Plus, it just happens to be one of my most favorite things ever. 🙂 [Read more…]
Cider Glazed Pumpkin Bread
Once the temperatures start to drop outside, one of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday afternoon is baking a yummy treat or two in the kitchen. Cookies, cakes, pies – you name it, I like to make it, but there are few things that smell better than pumpkin anything baking in the oven. One of my favorites is a super simple – but totally delicious – Cider Glazed Pumpkin Bread. [Read more…]

Happy Monday!
Our weekend got off to a rainy start but it ended up being a really beautiful two days. Not quite cute boot weather, but we’re getting there! I spent Saturday afternoon running errands and clearing the shelves at our local Marshall’s. Seriously, everything in that store had my name on it that day. Yikes. 🙂
I also got caught up on some things around the house, so I should be able to focus on a few projects I’d like to start coming up. Hopefully I can share more on that soon. [Read more…]
Top 10 Must Haves for Fall
“Nesting in the fall isn’t wasted time at all. It’s a comforting way to welcome us home.” – Melissa Michaels – The Inspired Room
Happy Friday friends! I thought I would pop in today with a little list of my “must haves” when it comes to decorating your home for fall. Things that I either use and love, or are similar to things I use and love. You know, just in case you wanted to do some shopping this weekend…;) [Read more…]
Early Fall Decorating – Part 2
I’m back today with the remainder of my little “Early Fall Tour”. Welcome back! 🙂
When I decorate for fall – or any season really – I try to do so in a way that will reflect the season, give my space a feeling of warmth and coziness, and most importantly, still be livable and practical for our day to day life. In other words, I don’t want to be moving hoards of pumpkins every time I want to sit down at the table for dinner, or peering around a giant botanical arrangement on the coffee table when I settle in to watch Bachelor in Paradise on Monday night (don’t judge – you know you watched it too. Can you believe what Kirk did to Carly?!?). 🙂 [Read more…]

Good Morning!
We had beautiful fall weather here this weekend – to the point where it was downright chilly Saturday night, but I loved it. I thought briefly about picking up some pumpkins to add around the house, but I think I’ll hold off just a bit longer.
I am in full-on nesting mode, constantly fluffing things around the house and gathering new recipes to try. I can’t wait to have a pot of soup simmering on the stove and a fresh loaf of this bread baking in the oven. What are you looking forward to the most this fall season? [Read more…]
Early Fall Decorating – Part 1
“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I was a bird I would fly about the Earth seeking the successive autumns.” – George Eliot
Even though it doesn’t usually feel like it outside, Labor Day always signals the start of fall to me. I know that soon enough the temperatures will start to fall and nights will creep in a little sooner. This is the time of year when I look forward to lighting candles, snuggling inside with a great book or a pile of magazines, and warming my kitchen with the smell of all things apple and pumpkin baking in the oven. To me, fall epitomizes one word: cozy. So it’s probably no surprise that I look forward to fall decorating all year long. [Read more…]
Rustic Farmhouse Plate Rack
Earlier this summer I found an old wooden box at one of my favorite shops. I don’t know what its original purpose was, but it may have been some sort of sifter…? I can’t tell you exactly what drew me to it, but something did, and it ended up coming home with me. I have no idea how that keeps happening. 🙂
Anyway, I brought it home and left it on the back porch for about a month, after which it promptly relocated to the basement, a/k/a the place for things I bring home and have no idea what to do with. Ahem. [Read more…]
