When a House is a Home

When a House is a Home

“We lose ourselves in the things we love.  We find ourselves there too.” – Kristin Martz

Sometimes I’m struck by the silliness of this blog – or even decorating in general.

I sat down to write a post about balance vs symmetry and tips for creating pretty little vignettes here and there.  And then I paused.

I come here and talk about fluffing pillows, and white paint, and things to display on your coffee table.  Most days, when I should be working at my 9 to 5, I get lost in imagining new ways to display my favorite treasures or dreaming about the rooms we have yet to tackle.  I’ve always been a daydreamer.

And the crazy thing about it…when I look back now…is I have no idea how we did it.

We didn’t have any money to speak of.  Not that we do now, but we’re certainly a whole lot more comfortable today than we were back then.  We both worked full time – just like we do today – and yet we somehow managed to find the time to transform that house from top to bottom in just three short years.

So basically, we made it really nice for someone else to enjoy. 😉

Once upon a time we had a different house.

A great house.

A house that was supposed to be our “forever house”.
