Office Makeover – The Reveal

Did you forget about the little office makeover we had going on over here?

I wouldn’t blame you if you did.

It was almost a whole year ago that I started talking about giving my home office a makeover.

I made a plan.

Then changed it.

Made another plan.

And then changed that too.

But once I got rolling with it, it all just kind of came together on its own and I’m so excited to share the finished project with you today.  It feels good to actually finish something.  We should probably try doing more of that around here. 😉

Office Makeover – The Other Vintage Cabinet and an Update

I have been slowly chipping away at putting my little office back together over the past month or so.

I didn’t exactly take an organized approach to emptying the room out before this makeover started – instead I took the completely unorganized approach of just haphazardly throwing everything into boxes and totes and piling them up in the basement.

So now as things come back in, I’m going through them one by one, and taking the time to determine what needs to stay and what can go.

And I have come to the conclusion that in addition to being a pillow hoarder, an antiques hoarder, and a book hoarder, I am also a paper hoarder.

Cable bills from 2007?  Heat and electric bills from four addresses prior?

Office Makeover – The Chair and the Vintage Cabinet

Even with all the rearranging and decorating and cleaning in the living room, I managed to make a little progress in the office over the weekend too.

I have used the same wood desk chair for close to ten years.  Jordan saved it from the dumpster years ago when he worked for a surveyor.  It’s always been in rough shape, but things like that have never bothered me too much, so I just embraced the imperfections – it’s still a solid piece of furniture and with my hodgepodge of office furnishings, it never felt too out of place.

But now with the new office coming together, that lovely vintage chair really started to show its age.
