Don’t overthink it.
Easier said than done, but that is my goal as we get started on this mini kitchen remodel.
This is about sprucing up. It’s about making things feel clean and fresh again. It’s about improving functionality without spending a fortune. It’s about making the most of what that kitchen is already giving us to work with.
We got this. š
Friday I shared a story from our Michigan house. We bought it with the intention of spending the rest of our lives there, and we poured our hearts and souls into that house. For three years, we worked our butts off – with a lot of help from our family and friends ā and we really turned it in to the amazing home it was meant to be.
And the crazy thing about itā¦when I look back nowā¦is I have no idea how we did it.
We didnāt have any money to speak of. Not that we do now, but weāre certainly a whole lot more comfortable today than we were back then. We both worked full time ā just like we do today ā and yet we somehow managed to find the time to transform that house from top to bottom in just three short years.
So basically, we made it really nice for someone else to enjoy. š
I thought Iād tell you a little story today.
Itās a story about keeping it simple, and working with what you have, and making the most of what youāve got.
Once upon a time we had a different house.
A great house.
A house that was supposed to be our āforever houseā.
Like most of the rooms in our house, our kitchen is small. Not only is it small (I donāt even think it is 10āx10ā), but it has all the awkwardness typically found in old house kitchens, with a window or doorway on every wall.
