I’m originally from a small town in Northern Michigan, but currently live just outside of Chicago with my sweet rescue dog, Alice.
I love old houses and antiques, and believe mixing the old with the new creates a cozy and comfortable home. I’m often asked what my style is, but I’m never able to really identify it. I love natural textures and warm wood, mixed with white and neutral colors. I tend to steer clear of trends and choose instead items that have a classic, timeless appeal.
I believe that a beautiful and comfortable home can be achieved for anyone, and on any budget. It’s about surrounding yourself with what you love and making the most of what you currently have. If a space is authentic to who you are – it will feel like home to you, and be a welcoming space for your family and friends.
I’ll be sharing projects and progress from around the house here on the blog, but since it often takes a very long time to complete a project (no DIY skills, remember?), I’ll be sharing some of the things that inspire me from week to week too.
