Random Ramblings

January 6, 2018

Are you staying warm??

The weatherman is telling me it’s currently a balmy -15 degrees with the windchill.  Good thing I like cold weather!  Cold days are a great excuse to stay inside and snuggle up with a stack of magazines, a cozy fire, and puppy dog – wouldn’t you agree?

Now that Christmas is over and things are getting put back into place, I’m ready to turn my attention back to that bed I bought last fall. I was really thinking I wanted to paint a couple of night stands I already have a pretty antique black color, but then I saw on Instagram and now I’m thinking white.  I just love how crisp and clean it feels – yet still maintains a cozy and vintage vibe.  The great thing about paint is that If I don’t like the white I can always try the black, right?

Speaking of cozy inspiration, I have really been enjoying – pages and pages of inspiration.

I still love my Pottery Barn sectional, but now that it’s just me I kind of wish I had something a little smaller so I could arrange the furniture the way I would really like to.  I won’t be replacing it any time soon, but if I was, I would give serious consideration to this sofa.  I tried it out at the store and it was like sitting on a cloud.

Totally dying over the thought of what this girl will be wearing on the big day in May.  I just love her and her style – she’s going to be a stunning bride.

Picked up one of these sweaters on sale – it’s so soft and I love the longer length.

Obsessed with .  It was a Christmas gift and I’ve been wearing it nonstop since.  It’s super cute and super warm for these cold days and I absolutely looove the pillow collar.

As a Christmas present to myself, I ordered these cute boots – and they were so worth it.  Cute, warm, comfy – they check all the boxes.

Every winter I struggle with super chapped, dry, flakey lips – wearing lipstick was always nearly impossible.  Not this winter!  A little bit of this balm applied at night before bed and my lips are soft, hydrated, and lipstick ready – even with all these frigid temps!

I spotted these little guys at Target the other day and I was quite taken with them. I think I might have to bring a couple home before spring.

I’ve been hearing great things about this show.  I’m anxious to start it.  Have you seen it? What did you think?

Happy weekend friends!!  Stay cozy!

I, too, can’t get a sofa right now but fell in love w that Crate and Barrel beauty when I sat on it! And as for Megan—I love her simple, elegant style! Loved her clothes on Suits!

Me too! I get to dress down for work, but if I had to dress up again I would totally be borrowing ideas from her Suits wardrobe.

Your Random Ramblings are fantabulous! You had better hurry and order your cacti from Target, they had but one left at my store. I was so surprised to discover the sofa that enchanted you is exactly like mine. It must be a different brand name, mine was purchased several years ago in a lovely sage green color. It is still so comfortable, a worthwhile investment. I like the idea of white for your nightstand, but then my whole bedroom is white wicker. I have never tired of it, even 15+ years later. I have boot envy, yours are perfect! I could go on and on, but have “rambled” to excess. Thank-you!

I’m telling you Ellen, I wandered into Crate and Barrel on a whim, saw that sofa and decided to give it a sit and did NOT want to get back up. Good thing it wasn’t on sale, or I probably couldn’t have resisted!

I saw the metal bed frame and what looks like a ikea malm dresser and thought of the bed you wrote about on your blog😂 I love the look. I think it goes well with what you have shared of your home. Also the crate & barrel sofa is amazing! I love everything crate & barrel!

Maybe that’s a good sign for those nightstands I want to paint white lol!

I am in love with the Crate and Barrel couch, too! I sat on it when I was in Chicago and didn’t want to get up, but figured it may be frowned upon if I took a nap!

Napability is a very important factor when deciding on a couch – it should totally be allowed.
