I really hate shopping for curtains.
There is just simply nothing about it I enjoy.
They’re expensive.
If I find a pattern or color I like, I hate the material.
If I find a material I like, I hate the pattern or color.
They’re expensive.
No matter where I’m shopping, they always seem to be one panel short of however many I need.
Oh, and did I mention they’re expensive?
So yeah. Not my favorite part of outfitting a home.
Ever since getting the bedroom painted, I have been on the hunt for new curtains to hang in the dining room. I realize that doesn’t sound like it makes a whole lot of sense BUT I’ve always wanted something a little different in the dining room, and I really wanted to hang the dining room curtains in the bedroom.
Now it’s all coming together, right?
I wanted something with a little contrast and pattern, but everything I found/tried was too bold, too busy, too not my style and even though there were a few I really liked, I knew I would tire of them too soon. And then I stumbled upon these curtains from World Market.
Perfect color, perfect price, perfect material, perfect pattern.

You’re probably thinking, but they look the same!
The pictures don’t really do them justice. The stripes are very subtle, so if I didn’t point it out, you may not even notice they’re different – but in person they add just the right amount of contrast to the white walls.
You’ll just have to take my word for it. š
The material is super soft – SUPER soft – and has the most gorgeous drape to it. They definitely look and feel like they should cost two to three times more than they do.
Plus they filter the light during the day and yet still provide privacy at night. A win all the way around!
I love that the stripes add a bit of interest, but that they’re still neutral enough to blend with anything I choose to do in this room. They are definitely a go with anything and everything choice.
I’m even entertaining the idea of adding them to the living room…
So what do you think of my choice in new curtains?

Rustic and woven, true to yourself, doesn’t get any better than that. Gorgeous.
Thank you so much Susan!
I love these curtains also, good choice! Your dining room is so beautiful and cozy, you have done a great job with it.
Thank you!
These are really pretty. Almost like a ticking stripe but softer and prettier. Great choice!
Thank you!
I love curtains that are a linen cotton blend. If I lived in the country I think I would skip them all together. They are hard to find and not spend a fortune. Your dining room looks beautiful ā¤
Thanks Holly! I agree – if I wasn’t in the city I might consider no curtains myself.
Curtains… ugh… they always look beautiful but I have the worst time deciding and hanging and did I say ugh? These are so fresh, cozy and beautiful, though. Inspiring me again!
Thanks Cindy! I agree – when it comes to curtains, UGH sums it up perfectly!
Love the curtains. Your space looks amazing.
Thank you so much!
LOL! I agree with you about curtains! They are a pain to decide on, etc. These are beautiful and the space looks great!!
Thanks Laura! Glad we can share the pain of curtain shopping!
I absolutely love them AND your style!! Your home is just beautiful and cozy at the same time. You have just the right amount of accessories and I love the high contrast of lights and darks!
Carol, you took the words out of my mouth. I totally agree. Cheers, Ardith
Thanks Ardith!
Aww…thanks so much Carol!
I love the new curtains & I love World Market! I also love your style. Enjoy seeing your pictures & reading your posts.
Thank you so much!
Love them! I’ve been looking for some curtains myself for my diningroom and I just can’t find the right ones. I’m considering what you have as I love stripes and the neutral color may just be right for my room.
Did you order on line or buy from the store? Can you share exactly which curtains they aren’t? Thanks!
Sorry! I missed the link in your post for the curtains….got it!
Just to let you know I bought these curtains and I just love them! Thanks so much for highlighting these in your blog….you saved me a lot of time AND frustration!
Yay Linda!! I’m so glad you found something that you love. I feel like they are such a bargain – great quality for the price. Enjoy!! š
Sorry for the delay in response Linda – I purchased mine in the store. They are sold as pairs online, but individually in store. Not sure why, but the price figures out to be the same either way.
