Happy Monday friends!
I’m so excited to be joining eleven of my fabulous and talented blogging friends for the Finally Fall Home Tour today. You can check out the rest of the amazing tours by clicking the links at the end of this post.
The fall season is my absolute favorite and always puts me in full on nesting mode. This is the time of year I want time to slow down so I can enjoy every single moment, and I usually add and adjust things around the house as the weather cools and the nights creep up on us a little earlier – I guess in a way I feel like I really get to prolong the season by slowly incorporating all the beauty of autumn throughout the house bit by bit. And now that the crisp fall weather has finally decided to join us, I will be breaking out the plaid and the pumpkins soon – hopefully this weekend!
Since I already shared our living room and dining room decked out with early fall touches (you can see those posts here and here), I thought I’d share a few quick changes I made to add an extra dose of cozy to our bedroom this fall season.
As a general rule, I like to keep our bedroom very simple and very neutral – it feels the most relaxing that way to me. So no fall colors or unnecessary distractions in here – just a few extra layers and lots of textures.
I shopped our house and gathered up a some elements that I thought would easily add a little depth and texture to our already cozy space. I started by grabbing a little button detailed pillow to add to the bed. Such a small change, but the extra touch of texture and “color” (ha!) instantly made the space feel cold-weather ready.
Next I turned my attention to the display shelf Jordan made for me last year. I am loving cotton stems and old books for fall, so I mixed those in with some mercury votive holders and simple ivory pillars (battery operated so as not to light those pretty cotton stems on fire) for a pretty display.
And you’re probably worrying about those votive holders on the headboard falling off…
I did too…
So that’s why I placed them on Jordan’s side.
Kidding! I secured them with little command strips so no one will be taking a votive holder to the head at night. I love how they carry the theme of the shelf and draw your eye down the wall.
Over on the dresser, I grabbed this giant copper pot we recently found at a flea market. I was told it is called an “ale pot” (used for brewing ale) and that it came from England. I have no idea if that’s what it is or not, but I love the rustic patina and fun shape. The dandelions and branches add a touch of whispy and whimsy fall fun.
Layered mirrors and one of my favorite wedding photos completes the other side – it really can be that simple!
I thought about swapping my cream throw out for this muted plaid throw, but ultimately decided to stick with the cream. Even so, the plaid easily blends in with the neutral décor and adds an extra cozy vibe – it’s nice to have options for an easy update if I decide I need a quick change. Just one of the many reasons why I love me some neutrals! 🙂
With just these few simple little changes, this room feels warmer and cozier, yet still fresh and relaxing – making it the perfect space to unwind at the end of a long day.
Don’t forget to check out all the rest of the amazing tours today – there will be loads of inspiration for you to enjoy!

Oct 3rd is my wedding anniversary, so your picture on your dresser really struck a chord with me….it is really beautiful.
I also really like that ale pot on your dresser and the stems you have placed in it. Are the dandelion stems faux.? If they are not, then I have never seen dandelions soooo big!
Along with white pumpkins, I cannot buy cotton stems and shipping internationally is terrible. Maybe we will catch up eventually with these retail yummies!
On the flip side, I’m amused by the blogs that talk about heirloom pumpkins. All year round we have pumpkins in these shapes & colors, some of them are called Queensland Blue, Kent, and Butternut squash. The only time we have orange pumpkins, is the imported from the US in Oct ones! Especially for Halloween. (Silly fun fact :-D)
Have a wonderful, cozy day!

Happy Anniversary Min! I’m a bit partial to October weddings myself – we were married on October 6th. 🙂 The dandelion stems are indeed faux. Can you imagine if they were real – they’re like the size of sunflowers! How lucky that you can find heirloom pumpkins all year – they can sometimes to hard to find around here. Although, with their growing popularity it is getting easier – which I am super happy about. 😀
