I think Halloween can be one of the most fun holidays to decorate for, and yet I rarely do it.
This year, I really went all out did almost nothing at all and added some bats to my front door
My mama makes the best apple pie in the whole world.
Not that I’m playing favorites or anything. 🙂
Perfect buttery flakey crust and piled high with the most delicious apple filling.
Sweet, but not too sweet, just a touch tart, and so full of juicy cinnamon sweet apple goodness you kind of just want to sit and eat the whole pie.
You don’t even have to take my word for it, because I’m sharing the recipe with you today. 🙂
I bet you’re thinking, “Oh yay, their porch is finished!”
Nope.
In fact, it hasn’t seen any real progress since I last shared an update.
And as not so fun as that is, that’s just the way these things go sometimes.
But I couldn’t let pumpkin season pass me by without doing a little decorating outside. Let’s face it, sometimes you just have to embrace the current imperfections and go with it.
Although the weather has for the most part felt like anything but fall this season, I’m still going about my business indulging in all my favorite seasonal traditions.
I’ve been baking on 80 degree days.
I officially retired my flip flops for the year and wear boots no matter how warm the day is supposed to get.
I’ve been cooking up soup, and chili, and other favorite comfort food even though the evenings are still perfectly pleasant for grilling outside.
While most are thrilled to see the warm days continue as we head into the middle of October, I can’t help but be just a bit disgusted every time I see a temp that starts with a 7 or an 8 in the forecast.
I might even pout a little about it.
I feel like I’m being cheated.
“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” – L. M. Montgomery
Ms. Montgomery is on to something there, don’t you think?
I, for one, couldn’t agree more.
October is by far my favorite month.
The colors.
The weather.
The comfort food.
Boots and sweaters.
Scary movies.
Leaves that crunch underfoot.
Our Anniversary (we celebrated nine years on the 6th!).
Pumpkins.
Happy Monday friends!
Do you guys ever shop at Arhaus?
I’ll admit, I’ve never purchased anything there, but their catalog shows up in my mailbox on occasion and I always enjoy flipping through the pages, admiring all the pretty things.
Today, I rounded up ten finds that caught my eye – perfect for bringing an extra dose of cozy to your living room this fall season, and totally suitable to carry you straight through the Holidays and into the New Year.
Happy Monday friends!
I’m so excited to be joining eleven of my fabulous and talented blogging friends for the Finally Fall Home Tour today. You can check out the rest of the amazing tours by clicking the links at the end of this post.
The fall season is my absolute favorite and always puts me in full on nesting mode. This is the time of year I want time to slow down so I can enjoy every single moment, and I usually add and adjust things around the house as the weather cools and the nights creep up on us a little earlier – I guess in a way I feel like I really get to prolong the season by slowly incorporating all the beauty of autumn throughout the house bit by bit. And now that the crisp fall weather has finally decided to join us, I will be breaking out the plaid and the pumpkins soon – hopefully this weekend!
Since I already shared our living room and dining room decked out with early fall touches (you can see those posts here and here), I thought I’d share a few quick changes I made to add an extra dose of cozy to our bedroom this fall season.
