I love putting a room together and determining how to bring out the best in a space, so when Douglas Elliman Real Estate invited me to share some of my favorite tips for putting a room together using a room from one of their Florida Properties as inspiration, I was excited to give it a try.

New Bistro Chairs for the Dining Room
Good morning!
I know some of you may disagree with this decision, but the dining room has two (more) new chairs. It’s not that I didn’t like the antique chairs, it’s just that they were showing their age – and not in a good way.
We’ll keep them tucked away in storage, because as my husband put it, “If you get rid of them, in six months you’ll be saying ‘I wish I still had those old chairs’, so you might as well hang on to them.”
He knows me well. 🙂
Thirty Little Drawers
By now, you’ve all seen the old apothecary cabinet that sits in the front of our living room. An apothecary cabinet was one of those things that I just decided out of the blue one morning that I had to find. Well…actually it was a card catalog that I decided I had to find, but that search quickly developed into an apothecary cabinet search. Within thirty minutes of browsing Craig’s List and Ebay I came across a listing for a cabinet that was not only in my price range, but it was within driving distance too.
I call that fate.
Wouldn’t you agree? 🙂
Spring Decorating – The Dining Room
Hopefully you all enjoyed Monday’s post, because spring decorating continues today with the dining room. 🙂
Seasonal decorating doesn’t have to be an elaborate process – just one or two quick changes can instantly freshen your entire space. Aside from maybe fall (just because I love it so much) and Christmas time, I keep my seasonal decorating pretty minimal and easy.
Spring Decorating – The Living Room
Happy Monday and Happy Spring!
So, I just realized Easter is next weekend and I haven’t even had one stale Peep yet. You all know that Peeps taste best after they’ve been left to sit open for a few days, right?
I’m thinking stale Peeps would have made a nice snack as I puttered around the house, fluffing pillows and adding pops of green here and there to welcome the new season. Talk about a missed opportunity… 😉
A Few Thoughts for When Decorating Becomes Overwhelming
I’m pretty excited this morning because today is my Friday!
Four day weekend? Yes please!!
I was going to start ripping apart my office (in case you missed it, you can read those plans here), but I decided this weekend would be more focused on F.U.N. A little shopping, a little eating, a little pampering, and a night out with some girlfriends to top it all off. I also want to work ahead on a few blog posts (spring decorating coming soon!), so there will be a little work – but it’s fun work so I’m okay with that. 🙂
I thought today I’d talk a little about what to do when you’re feeling overwhelmed with your home. Maybe you recently moved into a new house and everywhere you look is a project. Maybe you want to redecorate but don’t know where to start. Or maybe you’ve lived in your house so long that all the work you did when you first bought it needs to be redone or is no longer to your taste. Any of these things sound familiar to you?
Monday Inspiration
Happy sleepy Monday!
This whole “spring forward” thing is a killer, isn’t it? Why do we have to lose an hour of our weekend? Why can’t we lose an hour on a Tuesday or something? Someone really needs to fix that…
Before I get into today’s post, I want to thank you all for your sweet comments on Friday – I was feelin’ the love for sure. I’m so glad you guys enjoy your visits here – it’s fun for me too. 🙂
So partly because it was a cloudy, dreary weekend and partly because I was a little bit lazy, I did not get any pictures taken this weekend. It’s been a while since I’ve shared some of my favorite pins, so I thought a little bit of morning inspiration might not be a bad idea today…
Blogging – The First Year
Today is kind of a big day for my little blog – Rustic & Woven is one year old today! Considering that when I started this whole thing I didn’t know if I would make it a month, today feels like a pretty big accomplishment.
Fair warning: I’m going to pour my heart out a little bit today, so you may want to make sure that coffee cup is nice and full before you read further. 😉
DIY Wood Bead Vase Filler
If you’ve been following along here for any amount of time, you know that DIYs are few and far between on this blog. This girl is hopeless with any kind of glue gun, power tool, or really any craft supply in general, but every once in a while I manage to pull off a super easy project. And when I say super easy, I mean reeaallly super easy.
Well, guess what? I have just such a project to share with you today… 😉
Four Simple Ways to Style Your Coffee Table
Good Morning!!
I hope you all had a nice weekend. I spent a little time transitioning things over to spring around the house yesterday. The heavier pillows and throws have been tucked away and replaced with lighter and brighter alternatives, and subtle pops of green are starting to make their way into the house. I still have a little more work to do, but I love the light and fresh feeling from room to room now. I am so ready for spring. 🙂
So last week I wanted to do a post on simple ways to style your coffee table, but one thing led to another and I wasn’t able to get it all complete. But not this week! Today, I have four super simple and easy ways to bring a little pretty to your coffee table.
